Domes in Detail
Creative domes are modular, so can be easily stored, transported and then erected in under 15 minutes. Every panel can be adapted – ventilation, colour, print, material – to suit your personal taste or business need.
Each dome is hand-made from English Birch Ply & Sapele and is completely waterproof and weatherproof. As nature’s most stable shape – the dome design means that winds actually push it into the ground – it won’t blow over and to prove the point, these dining domes have been tested to withstand winds of up to 50mph.
Clever Domes
The domed design isn’t just aesthetically pleasing, it is also incredibly energy efficient. As heat rises, so the dome creates a thermal current that re-circulates the warmth making it quick to warm when it’s cold, and easy to ventilate and cool when it’s hot. Ventilation can be as flexible as you need it with natural vents in the roof plus additional ones in the panels. We can also add heaters and air conditioning as required.
Inspirational Domes
English inventor and designer, James Towner-Coston, created these dining domes after studying the dwellings of pioneers and nomadic tribes from around the world. Originally imagined as an affordable, ecological and low-impact housing solution, his domes were quickly embraced by the “glamping” and festival community.
If you’re a rock star, you may have seen his Unidomes in the back-stage VIP area at the Isle of Wight Festival. Or if you were at Glastonbury, you may have spotted the Dalai Lama hosting guests in one, as part of the Tibetan Film Festival. We also have it on good authority that Banksy stayed in one when he was there. Or you may have seen them featured on Channel 4’s Made In Chelsea; George Clark’s Amazing Spaces; or glamping at Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall River Cottage.
The good news is that you don’t need to be a Rock God, Art God and an actually Living God to rent, lease or buy these beautiful dining domes. You just need to call Jason on 0207 039 0104 or email [email protected]
